This is a very personal recording - with special meaning, at least for me, Bonnie Kane. Federico and I were both beginning the long sad experience of each having ailing parents who lived far away. We were both traveling continually to see them, trying to help manage and support their care long distance, and struggling to maintain our lives and local obligations, while handling the bundle of emotions that were arising with our respective situations. Sometimes in the short period while we were both in NYC, between all this traveling, we would get together, talk about what was going on, and play. This recording came from one of those sessions. It is a meditation on family, time, life, and the inevitable: the ageless human prayer.
